Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Motocross star, Beckett Monroe, is in need of some serious R&R. Not only to adjust to his new out-of-the-closet status, but in hopes of reigniting his passion for motocross. To his surprise, support shows up in the way of Christian Foster, his childhood best friend and first love. Spending time with Christian is the jumpstart Beck’s heart needs. But even if Christian can forgive Beckett for hurting him years ago, do they stand a chance against all the obstacles in their path?
Author Riley Hart delivers another five-star read with “Jumpstart”, and even though Beckett’s and Christian’s story is delivered as a novella and not as a lengthy novel, the reader is still treated to the same excellent writing style, deep and gratifying love story, endearing and believably authentic characters, and steady-paced, satisfying storyline.
Hart makes it easy to become immersed in the story of Beckett and Christian from their back story that originated when they were young boys to their separation a decade ago when Christian was outed through a love letter, and Beckett left town and pursued his dream of becoming a professional motocross rider, to reconnecting as friends when Beckett’s bisexual orientation was officially reported by the media. Those who are meant to be together eventually find their way home to one another, and Hart masterfully maps out a satisfying journey and takes us readers along for the ride to their HEA. Jumpstart also features a reunion with Landon and Rod, and Nick and Bryce, which adds a whole bunch of feel goods and fun to the story, and it also introduces Christian’s intriguing friend Quinn from California. Who else is anxious for Hart to tell HIS story?
