This was a fast read – both time-wise (it took me about an hour from start-to-finish) and the period of time the (majority of) story covered. The author does a phenomenal job of describing through her writing the characters, the setting, the emotions, the plot – creative phrases really ignite the story and also help the reader feel as if she’s experiencing it firsthand. Excellent character development and touching plot lines with appropriate back story sprinkled throughout. I really liked how the story was woven together to explain Reign’s moody and bullish persona. In the beginning, there was no reason why anyone should like him! Without spoiling the ending – including a bit of a surprise revelation! – it was a fun, feel-good story.
Favorite part: Reign’s compassion towards Jaslyn in the hospital waiting room and his admission to her later about their philanthropic work – it made him more likeable for the inevitable match-up.
The “huh?” part: Reign was certainly gruff enough, even though I guess his worry could justify his actions. Jaslyn was described as “chronically cheerful”, but I’m not sure she’s the brightest flame in the fire.
Recommend: Yes, it was well written and it kept my interest. It was a fun frolicking read.
